Hi my story starts when I turned 18 and legally aloud to gamble, I started off like most people small $5 bets on the Dogs and Horses and was really good at winning or just really lucky! As a few years went on and my better paying jobs came along I thought putting bigger bets on was fine starting at $10-$20 and now at my worse stage $50-$100, I Have found myself blood bone Broke a few times now and wasted my last $400 of my pay tonight I’ve said I’m going to stop the last 4months but I haven’t but it’s time to make a change and get real help and support from people I need, you will always be behind in money if you gamble so if someone is reading this I hope I can give you some support to quit like me, thank you for reading.

Dear Bryce,

Thank you for sharing your story. I can hear that gambling has had a devastating impact on you financially. It must be incredibly difficult for you to manage after putting the last of your money into gambling. It sounds like you have tried a number of times to stop but haven’t been able to. It can be a long, hard journey but it sounds like you have turned your experience into a positive and used it to fuel your motivation to change. To assist you on your journey, I would encourage you to reach out and seek support. You may like to call the Gambling Helpline 24/7 and speak to a trained counsellor (Gambling Helpline 1800858858) who can refer you on to speak to someone you can support you to continue your road to recovery.
