Hi, I am new to this forum and want to introduce myself to you. I am a woman who is in their late 30s and I have two kids and a husband. I work full time and I have a terrible secret that I am hiding from my loved ones. I have a hardcore problem with the pokies. For the past five years I reckon I have lost over 100 grand. I am ready to start facing up to my demons and get help. I want to find a counsellor and tell them everything because i have had enough of living a lie. I know I can;t fix everything straight away and it will take time but I am going to take it day by day. I want to reach out to anyone listening and give and get support.
Thank you for listening.

Hi Somerset. Welcome to the forum. You sound like a lot of us here. It's so hard to talk to other people about it, because they just don't get it. Like, to them you are just a loser in life and they don't want anything to do with you. But we get it. The pokies are just evil. I wish they were never invented. You shouldn't blame yourself when they suck you in because they are built to suck you in that's what they are for. It's great that you are here. Have you gone to the Gambling Help Online service. It's a lot easier because you can just send emails back and forth when you feel like it. The counselling thing is a too heavy for me but thats ok.
