I'm not really one for spilling my guts to a counsellor but they do have some free financial counsellors in the gambling help services and i went to one of them. I like them because they don't just go on about your emotions, they get your financial stuff under control and give you a good path back into the black. I mean, it's a long way off for me but now I know how to get there and it seems possible, while before it was impossible. i just felt like i was stuck in a jungle with no way out and then i saw some light for the first time in years.

Hey biggest loser, I really want to try and get some help, especially financial help. Everyday is an absolute internal struggle. I work but all my pay goes in them machines. I am hiding it from my husband. I'm broke by the time my next pay check comes in. I want to get help. How long did it take you to sort your finances out? I did self exclude this week but I'm telling you today was close. I got the urge you know? I'm ready to quit and I want to stop living a lie. Frown

Hi Somerset, Congratulations on self excluding and being ready to quit. There are counsellors available through Gambling Help to assist you with gambling and they may be able to refer you to a suitable financial counsellor as well. You have taken the first step forward and with counselling, you can obtain the support needed in moving forward.
